   OUR MISSION -To provide the helping hand to poor and downtrodden within the limited resources of the organisation, to make them self-reliant, by -- Organising the activities for the welfare of the society- Holding health check-up camps for the aged citizens and poor children, from time to time- Helping students from poor background by way of distribution of books, stationery and uniform etc.- Supporting the activities for development of skill and talent of the young and children, and organising training programmes. 


BACKGROUND

  The modest journey of the Society began on 2nd October 1998, pioneered by eleven members, retired from senior positions in various Government Departments with a zeal of creating a platform for promoting a quality life not only for its members but also for the society as a whole. The membership gradually increased, and its social activities expanded. The Society is registered under “The Societies Registration Act, 1860 (Act No. 21 of 1860)”. The Bye-laws have been framed for its proper functioning. Focus of the Society has been mainly on health care and education programmes specially for the underprivileged section of the area.

ACTIVITIES CONDUCTED IN RECENT PAST

The Society has been organising 2 to 3 health check-up programmes every year for the general public in association with hospitals and other social organisations. The Society is also helping the poor students by providing them study and stationery material as well as eye glasses to those with poor eye sight. Free medicines are provided during the health check-up camps. The Society also honours prominent social workers from time to time. On 21.01.2012 the Society honoured Subedar Major (Honorary Captain) Yogendra Singh Yadav, a Param Veer Chakra winner for his gallantry during 1999 Kargil War, who captured the Tiger Hill despite having been seriously injured, being hit with 17 bullets in his body.

Activities conducted by the Society

     

Some of the main activities conducted by the Society in recent years, are -

· 12.06.2023 - Distribution of Milk mixed Sharbat and Khichdi during the summer to about 1000 persons.

· 11.09.2023 - Held a free Eye check-up camp in association with Jain Milan, a social organisation.

· 25.12.2023 - Organised a general health check-up camp. Blood Sugar and B.P. of about 80 persons were checked. free medicines for general ailments like cold, cough and fever were given to the needy. Clothes were distributed.

· 18.01.2024 to 30.03.2024 – 60 days training programme was conducted for “Domestic Care Attendants” under the aegis of Jan Shikshan Sansthan (JSS), Ghaziabad, (Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship, Govt. of India). 20 trainees in the age group of 15 years to 45 years took training (Batch No. 85/2023-24). All 20 candidates cleared the test conducted on 04.04.2024 and were provided with a Certificate signed by the Director/JSS. 

· 30.07.2024-02.08.2024 - Organised a medical camp for the Kanwad Yatries on G T Road near the Major Mohit Sharma Metro Station. The medicines and bangages were provides for minor injuries to the Yatries.

· 02.10.2024 – Quiz competition was organised for the school children in groups of class 4 to 6 and class 7 to 10, focussing of Mahatma Gandhi and Shri Lal Bahadur Shastri ji. 60 children of different schools participated. The prizes were given to the winners. Certificates of participation were given to all the participating children. More than 20 Sr. citizens and social workers of the area were also honoured.

· 25.12.2024 –Organised a general health check-up camp. Blood Sugar and B.P. of about 75 persons were checked. free medicines for general ailments like cold, cough and fever were given to the needy. Clothes were also distributed.

Activities from April 2025 onwards

06.04.2025 – Distribution of Halwa and Chana as Prasadam on Ram Navmi day to about 375 persons in Rajendra Nagar, Sahibabad, Ghaziabad.

10.04.2025 – A skill development training on “Beautician”, has been started for girls on 07thApril, 2025, was formally inaugurated on 10th April 2025. Basic & Advance training course will last till 30th September. The successful candidates will be awarded the Certificates.

03.05.2025 – An Eye Care Awareness programme was conducted in association with “Drishti Vision Care Centre” Sector-3, Rajendra Nagar, Sahibabad, Ghaziabad. The Ophthalmologist of the Centre delivered an eye awareness talk with the help of pictures and charts showing the structure of eyes, and explained about the Cataract, Glaucoma and other common diseases of eyes, and the line of treatment for these diseases. Some participants got the Free eye check-up done also at the centre.

22.06.2025 – A mini Bhandara of vegetable Pulav and Sharbat was held near Major Mohit Sharma (Rajendra Nagar) Metro Station. It ws very well received and about 800 portions were distributed among the public.

19.07.2025 to 23.07.2025 – A medical camp was organised near Major Mohit Sharma (Rajendra Nagar) Metro Station for Kanwad Yatries. Besides providing the bandages, medicines for pain, sore throat, allergy etc. were also distributed. A large number of Yatries availed this facility. Hon’ble MLA of Loni, who visited the Shivir, also visited the medical camp and appreciated the efforts put in by the Society.
